Neighbourhood Plan

The Localism Act of 2011 has given Parish Councils the power to shape what their neighbourhood will look like in the future.

Wilbarston Parish Council has made the decision to take on these new powers and to prepare what is known as a 'Neighbourhood Plan'. Once finalised, this will help ensure that important local green spaces are protected from development; that heritage assets are safeguarded and that any new housing or business development is controlled and meets local needs in terms of type, location and appearance. The Neighbourhood Plan, once approved, will be an important document that has to be taken into account by North Northamptonshire Council when determining planning applications.

The Neighbourhood Planning Advisory Group will drive this process forward over the next 12-18 months or so, but it needs YOUR involvement NOW to make sure that the Neighbourhood Plan truly reflects the wishes and aspirations of local people. In the coming months there will be a wide range of opportunities for you to have your say so watch out for this so that you can contribute to the Neighbourhood Plan as it develops and find out how it is progressing.

We want to hear from you about what is good or bad about living and working here so that we can understand what needs to change.

This is your chance to really make a difference to the future of Wilbarston
